Musing on life, IT and programming by Chris Weedall

About

I live in Cheshire with my wife, two daughters and dog Lola. Outside the world of technology my interests include photography, running, science fiction, and getting out and about for walks that hopefully end up with a nice coffee and a cake.

Work wise, I'm Head of Digital Architecture at a local authority, leading a talented team of architects to enable digital transformation that empowers council services to deliver exceptional outcomes for our residents and businesses. I'm passionate about aligning architecture with real-world impact, ensuring technology serves people, not the other way around.

I've previously designed and developed digital solutions, enabling channel shift and application integration. I have worked in the industry for 28 years including earlier roles as a Senior Developer in the private, not for profit and public sectors.

Working in local government I feel I have a real chance to use technology and innovation to make a difference.

Fun fact: I created dayofbirth.co.uk in an evening 24 years ago, well over 4 million people have used it to find out what day they were born on.
